Keep what matters. Pass it on.
The FamRoot Vault is a private place inside your family network for the words you want to leave behind. Messages for a day that hasn't come yet, and a last message for the people you love.

Some things are for later. Some are for after.
Each part of the Vault does one job. You decide who each message goes to, and nothing is sent until its moment comes.
Last Message
Words for the people you love, delivered only after your death has been reported and confirmed by your closest family. Text, a voice note, a photo, a video clip or a document.
Future Messages
Write a text, record a voice note or a video today, and have it delivered on a birthday, a wedding day, an anniversary, or to a generation not yet born.
A documents space for family papers and a private diary are planned.
The words that matter most are usually never written down.
A blessing for a wedding day in Boston years from now. A note for a grandson who is still learning to walk. The things you would want your children to hear from you, once you are no longer there to say them.
The Vault sits inside your FamRoot network, so it already knows who your family is. When you leave a message, you pick the person from your circle, not from an email address you hope is still current.
"By the time you open this, you'll be all grown up. Here's everything I hoped for you…"
"Look after each other. Keep Sunday lunch going, even when it's just the two of you."
Private by default. Shared only when you choose.
Here is exactly how the Vault is protected today, without the marketing gloss.
AES-256 for your words
Notes and last messages are encrypted with AES-256. Most other sensitive data is also encrypted at rest, and everything travels over HTTPS.
A separate Vault password
The Vault has its own password, on top of your account login, as an additional layer of protection.
Staff access, stated plainly
It is technically possible for FamRoot staff to access stored content. By process and policy, staff do not view it, except where the law requires.
Stored in India
FamRoot runs on AWS in the Mumbai region, so your data is stored on servers in India.
You choose the people
Nothing in the Vault is shared unless you pick the people it goes to.
Gone when you leave
If you delete your account, your notes, last messages, future messages and media are deleted. What gets deleted, and when.
